20 open-source skills for your AI agent

Turn your AI agent into an email marketing expert.

Give your AI assistant the skills to create high-converting email campaigns, build smart popups, automate customer journeys and segment audiences, tailored to your industry.

Works with Claude, ChatGPT, Codex, Cursor and Gemini CLI

See it work

One request. Four pieces of finished work.

  1. You ask in plain words.

No marketing jargon needed. Describe your store, your list and what you want to happen.

  2. The right specialist steps in.

Your assistant matches the request to the eCommerce skill and loads its playbook only now, when it's needed.

  3. You get work you can build.

A campaign, a popup, an automation and the segments to send them to. Nothing is sent until you approve it.

Not a prompt template

A specialist who covers all four jobs.

Every skill knows campaigns, popups, automations and segmentation, adapted to its industry's customer journey, vocabulary, metrics and rules.

Campaigns

Writes the email and decides when it goes out.

Calendars built around your real sales moments, subject lines tested one variable at a time, and copy with one clear thing to click.

It hands you

  • A campaign brief and full copy
  • Subject and preview text pairs to test
  • Who gets it, and who doesn't

Popups

Grows your list without annoying anyone.

The right offer on the right page, shown when people are ready: on exit, after a scroll, never the second they land.

It hands you

  • Offer, trigger and targeting rules
  • Headline, button and decline copy
  • What to A/B test first

Sends each group what it actually wants.

Audiences from behavior, engagement, purchases, lifecycle stage and the answers people gave your popups, with consent respected.

I run a car dealership. Help me set up automated follow-up emails.

Here's how I'd approach it for a car dealership:

  • Inquiry follow-up

Instant confirmation, salesperson intro, similar vehicles, and a test-drive reminder.

  • Test-drive no-show

Reschedule within 24 hours with the vehicle still available.

  • Service reminders

Triggered by mileage estimate or months since last service.

  • Lease-end

Start 6–9 months before maturity with options to buy out, upgrade or return.

first flow to build: vehicle inquiry to test drive

  1. when

Inquiry form submitted on a vehicle page

  2. Email

    Immediately

Confirmation with the vehicle, photos and availability

  3. Email

    2 hours

Salesperson intro with a direct test-drive booking link

  4. Email

    Day 2

Similar vehicles in stock and financing estimate

  5. Branch

    Day 4

    Booked a test drive?

  6. Email

    Day 5

No: trade-in value offer to restart the conversation

  7. Goal

    Exit on booking

Popular workflows

Flows that run while you sleep.

Each comes with a trigger, timing, branches, an exit and the number to watch.

  1. when

Cart created, no checkout within 1 hour

  2. Email

    1 hour

Reminder with cart items, images and a single return-to-cart button

  3. Email

    24 hours

Answer objections: shipping, returns, reviews for the items in cart

  4. Branch

Cart value above the incentive threshold?

  5. Email

    48 hours

Yes: time-limited free shipping. No: social proof and last reminder

  6. Goal

Exit immediately when an order is placed

Measure: Recovered revenue ÷ abandoned cart value, and RPR per step

How it works

Running in your assistant in a minute.

  1. 1

    Choose your skill

Start with your industry, then add specialists like Deliverability or Segmentation.

  2. 2

    Install it

Copy a folder, run one command or upload a zip. Each page has steps for your assistant.

  3. 3

    Ask for the work

Request a campaign, popup, flow or audit. The skill loads when your request needs it.

Honest by design

Clear about what happens where.

An assistant that says it launched a campaign when it didn't is worse than none. Every skill separates what it recommends, what a connected tool can do and what you set up yourself.

recommends

The skill recommends

Strategy, copy, popup specs, flow maps and segment rules. Works in any AI assistant with no connection at all.

executes

A connected integration executes

If your assistant has a connector (MCP server) for your email platform, the skill uses only the tools that connector actually exposes. It never assumes a tool exists.

by hand

You implement manually

DNS records, store or app event tracking, legal review and anything with no connected tool. The skill hands you step-by-step instructions.

Built to work well with Poptin

The expertise works anywhere. If you use Poptin, each skill maps its recommendations to the Poptin feature that runs them, and only to features Poptin documents.

Questions

Good to know

What is an AI skill?
A skill is a folder with a SKILL.md file that teaches an AI assistant how to do a specific job. The assistant reads a short description of every installed skill and loads the full instructions only when your request needs them. These skills follow the open Agent Skills format.
Which AI assistants can use these skills?
Claude (Claude Code, web and desktop), ChatGPT on plans that include Skills, Codex, Cursor 2.4 or later, and Gemini CLI all support the Agent Skills format; each skill page has install steps for each one, linked to the vendor's docs. In other assistants you can paste the SKILL.md into custom instructions, but it will be loaded all the time instead of on demand.
Do I need a specific email marketing platform?
No. The marketing expertise works with any email or popup tool. Each skill also includes a guide for executing its recommendations in Poptin, because Poptin covers popups, email campaigns, automations and segmentation in one place.
Will the AI send emails or publish popups for me?
Only if your assistant is connected to your marketing platform through an integration, and only with the tools that integration actually provides. The skills tell the assistant to ask for your confirmation before anything reaches real contacts, and never to claim it did something it didn't. Without an integration, you get ready-to-build specs, copy and step-by-step setup instructions.
How do I install a skill?
Open the skill's page and choose your assistant. For Claude Code, Codex, Cursor and Gemini CLI it's one command with the open-source Skills CLI (npx skills add). For the Claude and ChatGPT apps you upload the zip from the page. Every skill installs on its own, so you only add what you need.
Can I use several skills together?
Yes. A common setup is your industry skill plus one or two specialists, such as SaaS plus Deliverability. The assistant loads whichever skill matches each request.
Is it free? Can I change the skills?
The skills are free to read and install from the public GitHub repository. The repository doesn't include a license file yet, so ask the owner before you redistribute them or publish a modified copy. Suggestions are welcome as an issue or pull request.
Is my data sent anywhere?
Skills are plain instruction files. They don't collect or send data on their own. Anything you share in a conversation is handled by your AI assistant under its own privacy terms, so avoid pasting personal contact data you don't need to.
